Previous email invitation to the house meeting:

-----------------------------------------------------

Hi all,

The House meeting to address the Constitution issues is happening today (Saturday) at 5 in the Avery library.  This meeting will settle the following questions:

- Should the quorum amendments be considered passed?

- Should the other amendments on the ballot be considered passed, on the basis that each of them met both the 2/3 referendum requirements and the lowered quorum requirements?

- Should the chancellor election be considered valid, on the basis that it met the requirements of the aforementioned amendments?

We encourage you to make every effort to attend, since we want as much of the House present as possible.  If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like to appoint someone to proxy vote for you, provide an absentee vote, or provide comments that you would like read at the meeting, please email the Council (avery-council@ugcs) with your instructions.

The Convention will set its own rules; the Council has come up with a suggested set of rules (attached), derived from last year’s Constitutional Convention rules, that this Convention may consider using.  Once we finish the above agenda, there will be a non-binding, unstructured conversation about the role of the Council and its relationship to the House (or any other issues any Member would like to bring up).

Thank you.

John Sadowski

Member, Avery Council
